OLIVER TOWAREK is an artist and writer born in Ł€dź and raised in the midlands. He combines writing, sound, installation, performance, and drawing in a sequence-dependent practice. This frequently assembles in series of constructions, deconstructions, and reconstructions. He collects words and objects, curating and altering them, occasionally returning them to their sites of origin. Recurring themes in his work include ownership, vulnerability, and imitation. Many of his interests lie in the multidimensional nature of being ‘trans’, used capaciously to include both being transgender and transnational. He is passionate about storytelling.
